How I Store My Jewelry
Share
I want to show you how I store my jewelry.
For some reason, this feels a bit more intimate than perhaps it should, and maybe there's a touch of vulnerability here, too.
I decided I wouldn't clean anything up or re-arrange anything. I promised myself I'd just open my jewelry box and take photos of everything as it was.

So here you go. A look inside my jewelry box.
I have a WOLF Sophia jewelry box (color: mink), it's three simple tiers, with a leather exterior. I got it years ago on eBay. They have some seriously gorgeous boxes and storage solutions on their website, if you're looking...
But back to the jewelry. At first glance, it appears like a jumble. But most of my pieces are together with their pairs (for earrings) and untangled. Yes, my necklace chains go a bit rogue, but it could be worse?

The best way to store your jewelry is somewhere dry and protected from air and the elements. Ideally, your pieces wouldn't be touching each other, like mine are, which can cause scratches on the metal surfaces.

Don't store your jewelry in your bathroom or on your sink ledge, where it is exposed to moisture and beauty products (hairspray, etc in the air). If you can, wipe your pieces at the end of the day of wear before you place them somewhere safe. This can remove body oils and lotions from the surfaces and prolong the life of the jewelry.
