Signature Jewelry: Defining Your Style to Create an Authentic Look
When you think about the idea of signature jewelry, I'm sure someone in your life immediately springs to mind. You can picture them in a piece that they wear all the time, something you associate with them so vividly that you can't see them without it.
For me, I picture my mom and the silver rabbit charm necklace she always wears, a piece that I custom made for her in my early design days, at the request of my dad. They met at a bar called The Rabbit's Foot. She is rarely without it on.
I also picture my mother-in-law and her beautiful, unique statement ring (forest jaspar, maybe?) that she wears frequently. It has the dreamiest, earth-toned colors in a large, oval stone. The kind of ring that makes you look twice and that I've never seen elsewhere.
My friend Tricia is always rocking a big stack of 14k gold necklaces, a glorious mix of accumulated pieces that includes a tanzanite pendant, a heart with her kids initials, a coin necklace with a favorite quote, and so many more. It embodies her Italian heritage.

What pieces or person comes to mind for you?
Signature jewelry is all about you. What represents you? What is meaningful?
For me, it's my Whole Heart necklace on a vintage chain that I found years ago, plus a rotating stack of rings on most of my fingers. Always lots of rings.
You signature doesn't have to be a specific piece. It can be a concept, like fun, bright earrings, or bold, chunky chains. It just has to feel like you.
Signature jewelry looks can build your confidence and define who you are. It also helps you avoid the pitfalls of following trends.
How to Find Your Signature Piece...
It could be:
-a symbol or shape that you love
-a piece you picked up while traveling
-a family heirloom
-a new design that you custom commission
-a special gift from a loved one
Jewelry carries our stories, brings us comfort, and outlasts seasons.
I'd love to know if you already have a signature piece, or if these words helped to remind you to search your collection for something you might already have that could become yours. Leave a comment and let me know!
